The school was originally formed in 1908 and has had extensions and improvements, the most recent in 1996. The school's facilities include a large practical teaching area, a purpose-built hall for physical education, drama, music and movement, school assemblies, a well-stocked and attractive school library, a purpose-built nursery classroom with its own cloakroom and toilets, a playing field and a nature garden. In addition to National Curriculum, French and Spanish is taught. The school has a variety of extra-curricular activities, which include football, athletics, rugby, hockey, netball, rounders, drama, violin, guitar, country dancing and trumpet. Strong sporting links with local clubs, success at area, County and National level.
